FBINAA Youth Leadership Program & Connecticut FBINAA Youth Leadership Academy
The FBINAA (National) and the Connecticut FBINAA (Connecticut Chapter) support the young leaders of tomorrow through the Youth Leadership Program (YLP) and Youth Leadership Academy (YLA). The YLP is held each summer at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Generally, one youth from the Connecticut chapter is selected to attend the YLP. Because Connecticut FBINAA desires to provide additional opportunities for young aspiring leaders to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities to make a difference in our communities and grow as a leader, the Connecticut FBINAA offers the Youth Leadership Academy, which is held the Community Center in East Windsor, CT each summer. Generally, 15-20 youth members from Connecticut are selected to attend the YLA each year. The 2026 Connecticut FBINAA Youth Leadership Academy will be held July 20-23, 2026, at the East Windsor Police Department, located at 25 School Street, East Windsor, CT.
The YLP and YLA programs offer lifelong enrichment opportunities in support of exceptional young leaders' drive for knowledge and their desire to make a difference in the world. The vision of YLP and YLA is to develop an influential community of socially conscious and service-minded leaders connected through association who positively shape the world.
Youth Leadership Program (YLP – Quantico)
The YLP is made possible and hosted by the FBI National Academy Associates, Inc., a non-profit law enforcement leadership network. This program focuses on eight days of intensive instruction for 62 participants. A cadre of law enforcement training instructors runs the highly competitive program. Students must have demonstrated high academic standards and good citizenship to be nominated for this program. Extensive coursework and classroom instruction focus on issues today's youth face and provide tools to enhance their core talents. Each year, students represent over 40 U.S. states and four international countries. The Youth Leadership Program is offered to the students at no charge. The Connecticut FBINAA fully funds travel (to and from), uniforms/equipment, and spending money expenses for YLP attendees. The FBINAA (National) covers all remaining expenses, including meals and lodging, while at the FBI Academy.
